It's time again for another progress update! (it's been time for a little longer but don't worry about it)

Only a few things have changed in terms of plans since the last update. The three models are now set; fellow seniors Leilani, Terra, and Bri. Xavier has shifted over to be the main photographer and will help bring out the best in the looks. Leilani is still working on Appreciation, but now I've jumped in to work on the Resilience look.

Before starting the last lap of the project, our class held a group critique that gave Leilani and me some insight on our progress. Last critique I remembered hearing the comment that if our focus is fashion, we would need to alter the clothing more than we had planned. I took that comment into consideration, especially with the Resilience look. This time around we got primarily encouraging feedback. The plans for both Appreciation and Resilience had peer approval, while Failure had a concern or two about its bulkiness.

Nothing has been changed for Failure, but Leilani has tried everything on to make sure that we don't need to make any extra adjustments.

Currently, I've broken down the heavily-ornamented jacket to transform it into a torso piece for Resilience. I have a corset that will be used for the base of the top portion of the look, and some wings are on the way to build a grander silhouette for the theme of resilience. On my part it'll be a lot of hand-sewing and hot glue, so stay tuned for what will be a guaranteed success :)

Leilani has been working fully on Appreciation with both the shirt and the skirt. The silhouette hasn't changed much, being free-flowing and light. You can check out her process here >>> https://leilanikab.wixsite.com/mysite/blog/2-3-progress-right

Inspiration as far as fashion goes has definitely been influenced by a few designs I saw by going to met gala vicariously through twitter. The level of extravagance varied, but gave me insight on how fashion doesn't have defined lines- and often avant garde is encouraged. John Galliano's looks in particular had some great versatility. And of course I can't ignore Billy Porters gilded vision.

Thanks for reading, see you soon!
